Here’s Some Tips for Your Vinyl Strip Door Selection
Strip doors are available in many widths, thicknesses and colors. The strip doors feature the exclusive Simplex clear/frost non-stick design for easy personnel and equipment passage.

In smaller doors, use smaller strips which are easier to pass through. As the door gets taller, you can increase the width of the strip and still maintain easy passage. Taller doors typically require more overlap for better air block. Drafty or windy conditions or heavy mechanical traffic such as forklifts require thicker vinyl.

Additional Guidelines for Ordering
Measure the width, then the height of the door opening or area where you want to install the strips. Decide on the type of mounting that best fits your application. Typically the wall mount is preferred on doorways. This gets the hardware out of the doorway and allows the strips to overlap the door jambs for maximum seal and air lock. Allow 6″ more in height and add about 6″ total in width when ordering. For in-jamb header mounts, simply order the exact size you need to span the opening.

Choose the type of material that matches your application (NOTE: Not all materials are available in all models. Please refer to models and available compounds chart on material specifications page. Choose the model number that is best suited for your application.)

Choosing and Measuring Your Strip Door

The Most Common Mistake
It is tempting. You want to make sure the door does what you want it to do. So you select a strip door with too heavy or wide a strip for your application. The result is a strip door that is harder to use and you are eventually dissatisfied with the product.

In smaller doors use smaller strips that are easier to pass through. Use more overlap to prevent the loss of air (as in refrigerated or climate controlled rooms) and to prevent contamination. Larger doors require wider strips. Heavier traffic or windy conditions require thicker vinyl and increased overlap for better air lock.
